From Alberta in Canada, this ammolite triplet has the most incredible pattern of iridescent purples & blues, switching from one to the other as the angle changes!  It really reminds me of a butterfly's wing!  Ammolite is very soft, so this stone has been backed and then topped with a resin to improve its durability. 

Stunning and unusual gemstone, suitable for the collector or the jeweller looking for something a little different.
